Karen Rupp-Serrano of University Libraries has asked me to share some
new tools that the library staff has created to assist students in using
the online library resources. The tutorials they have created are
excellent and are already being used in some of the College's online
courses. However, these may be useful for any of your courses,
regardless of delivery format. If you have any questions, please contact
Ms. Rupp-Serrano.
Thanks.

Subject: library tutorials and D2L quiz
Want your students to gain library skills but don't have time to bring
them to the library? University Libraries now offers online instruction
tutorials that demonstrate how to use many of the Libraries' online
services and resources. Designed for all website users, including
distance education users, the instruction tutorials employ audio
narration, interactive features, and simulation. To view the instruction
tutorials visit http://libraries.ou.edu/help/tutorials.
A Desire2Learn quiz has been created for use with the library tutorials.
A copy of the quiz is attached. If you are interested in using the
quiz, please contact Karen Rupp-Serrano ([log in to unmask]) to be added as an
instructor to the quiz/course. From there you can follow instructions
at the quiz/course website to import the quiz into your D2L course.
The tutorials and quiz will be regularly updated to reflect changes in
the library website. Expect to see new tutorials on plagiarism later in
the academic year.
Thanks for your help in spreading the word. Let me know if I can return
the favor sometime.
